• If your child has a behavioral issue, emotional trauma, a relationship issue, social challenge, or is suffering from depression, anxiety, or OCD, we can help. It may be hard for your child to tell you what’s wrong, sometimes they just don’t know how to express it. Giving them a way to show what they feel can make all the difference for your child.

With skill-building therapy, your children will not only survive, they will learn how to thrive. They will gain skills to cope with the changes going on in their world. Rooted Counseling Services works hand in hand with parents to help their young children utilize the tools they are learning in therapy. Parents will leave therapy with just as many new skills as their child.

  • Your teenager is facing significant obstacles in his or her life. Not only are hormonal imbalances heavily affecting their emotions, but social pressures and school responsibilities are impacting their behaviors and stress levels as well. Being a teenager isn’t easy, but overcoming those obstacles with therapy is possible.

If your teen is having a difficult time coping with emotional issues in his or her life, we strongly encourage you to help them see a therapist who specializes in teen counseling. At Rooted Counseling Services, our therapists are trained in helping teens overcome difficulties with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, LGBTQ+ and identity discovery, anger, bullying, and neurodiversity.

  • By improving the ways in which you handle your feelings and interact with others, your professional and personal life also will improve. In therapy, our clinicians can help you learn new coping strategies, develop greater confidence, improve habits, strengthen communication skills, and solidify a sense of meaning and purpose. We also can help you address any issues that have prevented you from reaching your goals in the past. We use a collaborative, strengths-based approach and highly value the therapeutic relationship that paves the way for progress in therapy. We can help with ADHD, anxiety/worry/panic attacks, depression/suicidal thoughts, drug and alcohol concerns, grief/loss, impulse control issues, intimacy and relationships, managing difficult health issues/caregiver challenges, parenting/co-parenting concerns, phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social challenges, sleep issues, sexual identity, stress, transitions - divorce, moving, new family structure, career, and trauma

At Rooted Counseling Services, we begin our therapeutic work by listening to understand your story and the experiences that may have contributed to or created the current situation to help you find more balance and happiness in your life

  • Healthy and happy families can be some of the most enriching relationships in someone’s life. However, most families are not healthy or happy all the time. Families are impacted negatively by changing financial situations, new children, death, and loss, divorce, and many more challenges. Walking alongside families through difficulty is an integral part of our work at Rooted Counseling Services. Family Counseling is available to all types and forms of families, as it is rare to find two families that are alike.

At Rooted Counseling Services we counsel families facing challenges with conflict resolution, family medical issues, blended family dynamics, co-parenting, parent-child conflict, problems between siblings, domestic violence, loss of a family member, coping with grief, communication difficulties, and parenting through divorce. Anyone seeking healthier, closer family relationships can benefit from family therapy.

  • Understandably, members of the LGBTQIA+ may be hesitant to reach out for help when they experience depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and more. While belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community can be a source of strength, it also brings unique challenges. For those who identify as LGBTQIA+, it’s important to recognize how your experience of sexual orientation and gender identity relates to your mental health.

LGBTQiA+ individuals are more than twice as likely as heterosexual men and women to have a mental health disorder in their lifetime. They are 2.5 times more likely to experience depression, anxiety, and substance misuse compared with heterosexual individuals.

At Rooted Counseling Services, we are proud to be an affirming practice with LGBTQIA+ identifying clinicians. We hope to play a part in erasing the double stigma. Our desire is to offer sensitive and informed care to our clients who identify as LGBTQIA+.

  • Motherhood and the path to becoming a parent can often be more stressful and challenging than you expected. New and expectant mothers can experience depression, anxiety, and psychosis during pregnancy and/or the postpartum period. Our therapists at Rooted Counseling Services can provide assessment and treatment of the full range of maternal mental health issues so you don’t have to suffer in silence.
